The Vác based DUNAKANYAR KÉZILABDA AKADÉMIA (DKA) began its operations in 2017, within the framework of a partial greenfield project. DKA has been formally authorized by the Hungarian Handball Federation to act as the training hub for junior, female handball players scouted from the North Hungary region. For the entire high school period, all outstanding 14+ talent enjoy a comprehensive educational and competition program provided by DKA. By leveraging and further improving the globally renowned traditions, reputation, and brand value of women’s handball in Hungary, the Academy aspires to become a national and international reference base, a talent management hub, and therefore an appealing destination for junior athletes of the region.

The founders firmly believe that sport can provide targeted opportunities for those deprived; furthermore it also allows the talents of the aforementioned, underprivileged region to participate in high quality sport training and education.

The Foundation openly encourages positive discrimination that is based on measurable capabilities and knowledge. It creates and offers opportunities.

DKA began its regional talent scouting activities in 2016. Today we are proud to say that through our professional and financial contribution, nearly 400 elementary school girls are competing within their respective age group championships, representing DKA. The cooperation between the coaches and our professional DKA staff ensures their development and their subsequent, successful admission into our institution.

Since the summer of 2019, we continue our great work in our new dormitory and sports hall complex. The establishment provides housing and sporting activities to 100 people and fullfils all needs of our athletes and staff.
